DAY 1-2 - Kona, Hawaii

Meet fellow guests and expedition leaders at a welcome dinner. From your beautiful beachside resort, venture out into the warm, clear waters of the Pacific to spot migrating humpback whales, dolphins and Hawaiian green sea turtles.

DAY 3-6 - Papua New Guinea

After crossing the international date line and losing a day, spend a night in Port Moresby, the capital city of Papua New Guinea. Then ascend to the Highlands in search of the magnficent bird of paradise or spot cockatoos, parrots, hornbills, cormorants and more while exploring the wild tropical lowland forest along the banks of the Karawari River.

DAY 7-8 - Borneo, Malaysia

Visit the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Center—the oldest and largest in the world—to see orangutans that were rescued or orphaned and are now being conditioned to return to their natural habitat. If time permits, observe endemic proboscis monkeys as well as hornbills, king shers and other colorful tropical birds.

DAY 9-12 - Ranthambore National Park or Kanha National Park and Jaipur

Delve into the former hunting grounds of the maharajah of Jaipur to search for the iconic Bengal tiger as well as leopards, sloth bears, wild boar, striped hyenas and the rare hard-ground swamp deer. Then, immerse yourself in the cultural treasures of the Pink City of Jaipur, historic capital of Rajasthan.

DAY 13-15 - Serengeti Plain Or Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania

Tanzania has more land devoted to game reserves than any other country on earth. From your luxurious safari lodge, search for the Big Five: lions, leopards, Cape buffalos, elephants and rhinos. Or spot wildlife in Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest volcanic caldera.

DAY 16-18 - Kigali and Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda
